Art Making // Outreach // Research
Please join us on Wednesday on the third floor of the Levis Faculty Center at 7:30pm (that's the SE corner of S Gregory and W Illinois) for a conversation on the history of machines and a surprising set of attitudes, beliefs, and circumstance that shaped their adoption and design. I'll be joined by art and design faculty Ben Grosser and medievalist Elly Truitt to discuss her recent book Medieval Robots: Mechanism, Magic, Nature, and Art. There will also be robot demos (email firstname.lastname@example.org if you'd like to participate in a related user study!).
I look forward to seeing you there for an evening of discussion that is critical to understanding robots and that needs historians, artists, engineers -- and many others -- to take place!
